Scanners find. Deployment tools install. Coordination is everything in between, and it is usually where the months go.
Concretely: grouping vulnerabilities by the patch that closes them, ranking them against business impact, picking a date that does not collide with a change freeze or a connected system, getting the system owner's approval in writing, sending invitations and reminders, and closing an execution checklist you can show an auditor.
The category has no settled name in the market. The vendors who own both ends — detection and deployment — have no commercial reason to work on the middle.
