The console layout

The frame every screen shares: the sidebar, the top bar, the location bar and the tab title — and who controls each of them.

Every screen has the same frame: a sidebar at the reading start — right in Hebrew, left in English — a top bar, a location bar under it, and then the content.

The top bar

ElementWhat it does
Search fieldOpens global search. The shortcut is drawn inside the field — ⌘K or Ctrl K — and works from any screen
My boardReturns to the last dashboard opened. For a user who has never opened one, to the board library, never to a blank board
Time and dateA live clock, with the day and date written DD/MM/YYYY
BellOpen alerts

The sidebar

The sidebar is the list of destinations. Some rows expand into sub-rows, and favorites sit at the top — screens marked from the app launcher, shown as a shortcut to whoever marked them. At the foot sits the account card, with the name and the role.

  • Collapse and expand: Ctrl+B, or the [ key. While collapsed, a group opens in a floating panel rather than inside the rail.
  • Order and names: an administrator sets the order and the names of the rows for the whole organization. A user can hold their own ordering that replaces the global one; clearing the personal ordering returns them to the administrator's.

The location bar

A fixed strip under the top bar, on every screen and at every depth:

Information assets › Server list › SRV-014

Every step but the last is a link; the last is where you are. It replaces the back links that used to be scattered across record pages. The chevron between steps is drawn along the reading direction, so it points left in Hebrew and right in English.

The tab title

One rule, everywhere:

[what you are looking at] · [where it lives] · [the system's name]

Most specific first, brand last. This is not an aesthetic preference: a tab truncates from the end, so whatever identifies this tab has to be at the front, or it is the half that disappears the moment a second tab opens. At most two parts before the name — a third is text no tab is wide enough to show.

A record page puts its own subject first, so four open tabs on four servers are four different tabs. The brand slot is read from the system's own settings, so a re-branded installation says the organization's name in the tab.

What each person controls

The full list of keyboard shortcuts opens with the ? key on any screen, and every line in it is a shortcut that exists.
